Welcome to The White House On High Street, a truly elegant bed and breakfast set in the picturesque village of Port Jefferson, NY on Long Island’s exclusive north shore. Located a short walk from Main Street and the harbor with its ferry service to Connecticut or a short drive from two world class research institutions, Stony Brook University and Brookhaven National Laboratories, the inn is a perfect retreat for the vacationer and business traveler alike.
In the heart of the village, the inn is just a stroll away from shopping, fine dining, theater, entertainment and the spectacular Port Jefferson harbor. Spend an afternoon browsing the unique stores that line Main Street. Stop in for an afternoon wine tasting at our local winery store or have lunch at one of the many fine restaurants in the village. In the evening, take in a play at Port Jefferson’s own Theater Three.
Back at the inn relax in our three lavishly decorated rooms each with cable TV, telephone, and sitting area along with our sumptuous private bathrooms, featuring deep marble bathtubs, Jacuzzi, and separate showers. Outside, take a dip in our magnificent heated pool, or soak in the 12 person hot tub with waterfalls or simply lounge with your favorite book and take in the breathtaking landscape and gardens. Sip a cool drink at the built-in outdoor bar.
Inside, warm yourself by the onyx fireplace or play a game of pool in the fully equipped game room. In the morning enjoy a delicious breakfast including a selection of seasonal fresh fruit, a variety of fresh baked goodies, hot brewed fresh coffee or hot chocolate, teas and juices. We serve gourmet breakfast each morning in the gardens by the heated pool or in our Tuscan dining room by candlelight. A self service snack bar with drinks is also provided!
